Ok, I need another perspective. My comp is running slow...very slow. Loading takes forever and videos no longer streaming as it should. It gets...laggy. It plays a couple seconds, skips a beat then resumes in a cycle. Can anyone help me resolve this problem?

Edit: I've tested my ram, and it doesn't seem to be a problem there.

You know if your processor is overheating or anything? Make sure all your fan vents are clear of dust and such.

It doesn't appear to be.

How old is this computer, there could be a number of things.

The nic card could be wearing out ( they tend to be the one thing that dies the most on a computer), You can google a speed detector website that will post up number of d/l and up/l.

Your cache memory in your processor can be giving out, this one doesn't happen all to often but it's been known.

also if it's an older computer and you've been using the same OS you might have accumulated different adware and trogans/virsus, that are dormant that virsus detectors can't pick up, sometimes a fresh wipe of the OS can boost back up a computer.

But check your nic card, and if it looks to be d/l'n and uploading fine i would suggest a OS wipe.

Also the way prices have been plumeting on cimputer equipment you can do a quick upgrade or a motherboard and cpu for under 100 dollars.

Yeah I'm trying to avoid the wipe until the new system gets here. So I have 2 weeks until I can wipe the system.

unfortinitly it's the curse of windows, unless your up to date and defrag and run scans every day or two it just starts to crack down after a long period of abuse. almost as bad as a woman, so damn picky

How old is the computer? Since around the end of the nineties microprocessors have gotten small enough that they sometimes break down after around 5 years because the atoms physically rattle themselves out of the lattice.

OS wiped. I've got streaming video back, but now when I scroll using my mouse scroll button it isn't smooth, but rather it's like it's reloading everytime I scroll the page.
