So ya, beta is closing down October 10th and is going to be down until at least December.

Why is it going down for so long?

Well, what the posts from the patcher and the private forums:

1) Polish and Shine the gameplay
2) Improve the game based upon feedback, suggestions, and bug reports
3) Improve RvR, Careers, and Exp Curve
4) Armor Tinting and Attached Trophies (do something special in RvR and you can put a skull onto your armor)
5) Finishing and implementing the High Elf / Dark Elf careers into the game

My personal opinion though, the Beta i played in almost felt like an Alpha, everything felt extremely rough around the edges, nothing game core mechanics is explained to you (currently have to troll the forums to find anything out). I really hope they take this down time to really make the game feel seamless because as it stands, the games seams are like denim turned inside out... On the forums Jeff Hickman promised to keep weekly updates explaining exactly what was being worked on that week for all of the beta testers to see. Heres hoping for the best.

no idea about HGL, when it comes to promising one thing and delivering another, I rarely forgive and forget.

So if you haven't heard, the current reasoning behind the beta closure, is to "Polish up the gameplay and make RvR/PQ's more robust for the launch of the guild invite beta program when beta restarts this December."

yea, it least they are taking their time since I find the WAR ideal / gameplay has more potential then wow (for me)

Sadly I was never accepted into the beta, I see video of a RVR match though...its Video of the month #3 on the WAR website

well, time to play some HG:L until WAR comes out

Also.... hmmm lots of also..... anyways..... I heard that near the end alot of people will be accepted into the beta as a stress test

Open beta will be mid to early January. Least thats what a few of my buddies say.
