I kind of want this to be a format for posting, a way for people to ask about mechanics, or share their personal experiences. Or maybe even share something comical (like building sentries in completely superfluous spots). So I will go ahead and get the ball rolling.

What I learned from TF2 today...

1 ) that pot shotting with a sniper rifle is easy, just have your smg equipped until you see an enemy, put the dot on the middle of the smg target reticle on that person; switch to sniper rifle, and potshot him in the face

2 ) After going back and looking to find what key is bound to "take screenshot" (F5) i found that there is a "Disguise as last..." spy specific bind set to the "B" key. Go figure.

What I learned from TF2 today...

1) In the map dustbowl, the second push site has an outcropping of rock to the right if you are defending that everyone goes around. As a demo you can launch sticky bombs into the outcropping on the second rock in on the outside (Its hard to follow but try it in game!). They go INSIDE the rock and people can't see them. So when people stack back there, you have a nice big explosion to rock them with.

2) In the push map with the trains, as you are coming out to the first bridges, you can launch with a sticky bomb as a demo right on the bridge and land on the ledge just outside the first cap point.

What i learned from TF2 today.

Rockets often do splash damage through thin walls and flooring, this means that as a soldier, you can take out all of those pesky sentries on 2fort without leaving the comfort of the first floor.

Is there a good way to calculate splash range on rockets, pipe, and sticky bombs?

im sure theorycrafting will come out soon, but as far as personal experience i think splash rocket dmg does a bit more.
