Pulchra

1. What is the name of your main character in your 'main' game?
All of my characters are different forms of the Latin word pulcher\pulchra\pulchrum. The one I am playing mainly is Pulcher
2. Tell us more about that character - what class, spec, etc is it? Why?
My main right now is a Guardian. He is level 24 as I am writing this now. His spec has a few points in Aura of Defense and of course Prayer of Healing, also a few points in the shield skills, which I have found very useful.
3. If you have alts, tell us about them.
I have a level 10 Summoner name Pulchra, but I didn't really like her very much. Might make a different alt with that name.
4. Tell us about your gaming history. What is your favorite game? Why?
I have only really played 2 online game. The first one being Socom 2, which I just found the sniper boundary rooms to be a lot of fun. The other game was World of Warcraft. I played that game for a long time. My first main was a Troll mage which I did some raiding with, pretty much only MC. After my guild on that server broke up, I went to another server and created my druid, Pulchra, which I played until a few months ago. I was one of the founding members of the best raiding guild early on in the servers life. After that guild broke up, I joined another and raided with them up until recently where my raiding position was taken away for a week and a half of inconsistency.
My favorite game is not an online game, but a single player PC RPG, Fallout 2. Everything about that game was just perfect for me. I am rather angry about how Bethsda are handling Fallout 3.
5. Are you playing any other games right now? Which ones?
Pretty much just Hellgate: London. I will probablly start playing WoW again when the new expansion comes out.
6. Are you a member of a community in those other games or have you been in the past?
Well, there was the guild I was in when I was playing WoW.
7. What sorts of roles have you had within gaming communities? What are you like as a member of one? Please cite specific examples.
In my first guild with my Druid in WoW, I was a class leader from the beginning and later an officer. I would think I was a decent leader, I was really close with the other druids in my guild, but I am somewhat quiet at times, which affects leadership.
8. How would you describe your play style?
After 2 years of raiding hardcore in WoW, I want to take it a little easier, but I wouldn't say extremely casual either.
9. What days/hours are you usually available for activities/raids?
I work nights until 6, 7, or 8 EST on some weekdays and have school during the day.
10. What sorts of ‘real life’ activities & commitments might keep you away?
School, work, and the occasionally drinking night.
11. What is your age and general location (state or region of the country is fine)?
I am 18 and live on Long Island in New York.
12. Write a few sentences about you in ‘real life.’ What are your hobbies, interests, past, & future plans?
My two main hobbies are gaming and guitar. I am very into music, mainly rock, and consider it a major part in my life. I plan on going to college next year. I am somewhat quiet, which is usually confused with shyness, but I just like to collect my thoughts before I say something.
13. Why do you want to join Tribe (what can this community do for you)?
While playing Hellgate: London, it got somewhat lonely, so I though I should start looking at guilds. I saw your thread on the forums and it seemed like this guild would be a nice place to be.
14. What do you have to offer Tribe (what can you do for the community and its members)?
I would consider myself a rather nice person, in my experience with WoW, I don't think I can remember anyone who truly disliked me. I am also very loyal. In WoW, I never left a guild until it ended up disbanding, I stuck with it until the end.
15. What qualities and skills make you a good leader?
I try not to anger people, which just causes drama and thats never a good thing. I am a dedicated person, who will, when needed, put the good of the many above the good of the few.
16. What qualities and skills make you a good follower?
I can listen to directions well and I dislike drama.
17. What are your strengths when it comes to gaming in general or in this game specifically? Would you be willing to help others acquire those strengths?
My strengths I would say would be my dedication and passion for gaming. I don't know if these are things that you can help other people acquire, but I can try if it is needed.
18. What are your weaknesses when it comes to gaming in general or in this game specifically? Are you willing to work on those weaknesses?
My weakness would be my quietness I would say, as it sometimes hurts in communication. I have been trying to fix this for awhile, but to no success.
19. How did you hear about Tribe? Why are you interested in us?
I heard about you on the Hellgat: London forums. I am interested because its a little lonely playing the game by yourself and this community seems like it would be fun to be in.
20. Do you know any current members of Tribe? If so, please list them.
No.
21. Why is the sky blue? OR Why are manholes round?
I think I remember this from Earth Science, but isn't the sky blue because it is reflected off the ocean or something like that?
22. List 10 adverbs or adjectives describing you.
Odd. Friendly. Quiet. Rompa. Intelligent. Thoughtful. Not Al Gore. Strange. Dedicated. Chair.
23. If you could chose one of two super powers in real life, the ability to become invisible or the ability to fly, which would you choose and why?
The ability to fly, because I wouldn't have to pay the airplane companies or the gas companies anything just so I can get around.
24. In general, how do you handle conflict?
I handle conflict generally by trying to talk to the person or people I am in conflict with. If it is an internal conflict, I just talk to myself.
25. If you had an infinite supply of water and a 5 quart and 3 quart pail, how would you measure exactly 4 quarts?
Assuming that the supply of water is drinkable, I would find someone with a 4 quart pail and allow them to use my infinite supply of water if they allow me to use their pail.
26. Suppose you go home, enter your house/apartment, hit the light switch, and nothing happens - no light floods the room. What exactly, in order, are the steps you would take in determining what the problem was?
1. Curse under my breath 2. Test to see if power is on in my house 3. If yes, get another light bulb to see if its the bulb. 4. If no to 2 or 3, call an electrician to check it out 5. If I get a reply, get something to drink and wait. 6. If I don't get a reply, assume the zombies have finally taken over and get my chainsaw and boomstick.
27. Tell us a joke.
I find the best humor to be the spontaneous kind, not forced such as this, but I'll give it a go. Can't guarantee anything good here.
