1. What is the name of your main character in your 'main' game?
The character I completed Hellgate: London in normal mode is named Melody.
2. Tell us more about that character - what class, spec, etc is it? Why?
Melody is an Engineer, heavy drone with rocket and bomber bot's.
3. If you have alts, tell us about them.
All my alts are elite mode. 25 Summoner named Harmony, 11 Engineer named Rythm, 9 Marksman named Legata. One of these will become my main as I'm not much interested in continuing the normal mode of the game. I'm leaning towards engineer although it's an extremely buggy class atm. Which class becomes my main will likely depend on what would be most useful to the guild. Would also consider Guardian as I usually play a tank in MMO's, I just hate the mechanics of melee in HGL.
4. Tell us about your gaming history. What is your favorite game? Why?
Civilization was the game that really made me take games seriously. Before that I was a pretty casual gamer, but I've been gaming since the days of pong. Herzog Zwei for the Sega Genesis was pretty amazing for it's time. A few other favorites would include KOTOR, WoW, and Rise of Nations.
5. Are you playing any other games right now? Which ones?
I tend to play one game at a time, so I'm just playing HGL currently. I just finished Jade Empire (PC), Age of Empires III, and Galactic Civilizations: Gold Edition prior to this. Also beta tested Tabula Rasa (uggh).
6. Are you a member of a community in those other games or have you been in the past?
I have been in a guild in every MMO I've played: AC, AO, DAoC, Shadowbane, CoH, Horizons, WoW. Since I first started playing AC in '99 I have spent the majority of my time playing MMO's, catching up on the best games I missed in between.
7. What sorts of roles have you had within gaming communities? What are you like as a member of one? Please cite specific examples.
I have usually been an officer in most guilds. It's not something I require, as I also enjoy just playing the game free of the responsibilities of a leadership role. The guilds I have been in have usually been those that are acknoweledged as the top guild on the server. Unfortunately I have been unable to find a guild that has been able to stay together for the long haul. It has been one of the major disappointments in my gaming life.
8. How would you describe your play style?
I tend to push the content when I can, and enjoy being with others who do as well. I am a strategist at heart and enjoy analyzing the mechanics of a game. I can then use that knoweledge to advance myself and my guild.
9. What days/hours are you usually available for activities/raids?
I do not have what can be described as a normal schedule. See next question for clarification
10. What sorts of ‘real life’ activities & commitments might keep you away?
I play in a couple bands that practice and perform a couple days a week on average. These affect my evenings both both weekdays and weekends.
11. What is your age and general location (state or region of the country is fine)?
40, Los Angeles area.
12. Write a few sentences about you in ‘real life.’ What are your hobbies, interests, past, & future plans?
When I'm not playing music like playing games. When I'm not playing games I like playing music. I plan to continue playing music and gaming as long as I possibly can.
13. Why do you want to join Tribe (what can this community do for you)?
I'm looking for a commited guild, I've checked out a couple of the guilds in HGL and have been less than impressed. I'm used to MMO style guilds and really want to find one that I can contribute to and can help me be the best I can be. One hand washes the other as they say.
14. What do you have to offer Tribe (what can you do for the community and its members)?

Organizational skills and a commitment to make the guild the best it can be.

Willingness to be a team player and do what is necessary.

I enjoy the strategic aspects of the game, and am always looking to see how aspects of the game can be completed in the most efficient manner.
18. What are your weaknesses when it comes to gaming in general or in this game specifically? Are you willing to work on those weaknesses?
I'm not the greatest at the twitch aspects of gaming. I am always looking for ways to improve those skills.
19. How did you hear about Tribe? Why are you interested in us?
I saw your post on the HGL forums. Playing solo is mind-numbing and I really want to find a good community to be involved in.

21. Why is the sky blue? OR Why are manholes round?
The sky is not always blue. At dawn and dusk it's red. On cloudy days it's gray.
Manhole covers are round so fat maintenance workers can fit through them.

23. If you could chose one of two super powers in real life, the ability to become invisible or the ability to fly, which would you choose and why?
Invisibility. I can fly in a plane. For free since I'm invisible!
24. In general, how do you handle conflict?
I tend to not take things personally. Only if someone wants to escalate unnacceptable behaviour will I show my darker side.
25. If you had an infinite supply of water and a 5 quart and 3 quart pail, how would you measure exactly 4 quarts?
Fill the 5q pail. Fill the 3q pail from the 5q pail. Empty the 3q pail. Pour the remaining 2q's from the 5q pail into the 3q pail. Refill the 5q pail. Fill the remaing 1q from the 5q pail into the 3q pail. There are now 4q's in the 5q pail.
26. Suppose you go home, enter your house/apartment, hit the light switch, and nothing happens - no light floods the room. What exactly, in order, are the steps you would take in determining what the problem was?
Check another light. If that doesn't work, Check another light. Work my way to the breaker box checking lights. Check breakers. If breakers still closed, check fuses. If fuses broken replace fuse. If fuses are fine call the electric company.
27. Tell us a joke.
A scientific expedition is hacking it's way through the jungles of Borneo. In the distance they hear the rythmic sounds of drumming start up. The native guides suddenly become agitated. The leader of the expedition asks the head guide "What's wrong?" The head guide says "Drums good, but when drums stop bad thing happens!"
They continue on their way and the drumming gets louder and more intense. The natives are beginning to get really frightened and stop moving forward. The leader of the expedition asks the head guide "What happens when the drums stop?" The head guide says, "Drums must not stop, very bad when drums stop!"
The scientists are beginning to panic as well, and the drumming starts to reach a crescendo. The natives throw themselves to the ground and cover their ears screaming. The head of the expedition grabs the head guide and pulls him up, yelling "WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE DRUMS STOP!" Suddenly the drumming ceases and only the sound of the natives screaming can be heard. The head guide lowers his head, shuts his eyes, covers his ears and whispers...
"BASS SOLO."
