I think it is...if you have a low fire rate like shot by shot...and if you miss your target...I get the opportunity to kill you so many times before you get an other chance to fire on me.

You don't use a sniper for close combat, you use a high fire rate weapon (or dispersive).

Sniper rifle should be much more powerful than the garand though, and it isn't always 1 shot 1 kill. The garand, AFAIK, is not meant to be a sniping weapon. That's a big issue. Plus, half the time a good player can get 2-3 shots off before the enemy can find them (by flanking or whatnot). This makes any weapon that's 1 shot 1 kill and not a sniper rifle a bit ridiculous.

Yeah, the M1 is a bit OP. It was pissing me off when I strafe Bouncer with several rounds only to be one shot. Then I killed him and took his kit and enjoyed the fruits of his labor.

I always use the M14 in COD4, so I like semi-automatic weapons.


It is still op though.

The Garand isn't always 1 shot 1 kill, it is only 1 shot 1 kill when you get a headshot. The Garand is powerful, but the clip is small (only 8 shots I believe) so if you miss with you first couple shots you are dead.

Playing around with Terrapin today, Garand is definitely not 1 shot kill. Takes 2 unless it's a head.

The Garand is the WWII grifle available to all classes once you get a Battlefield Veterans Rank of 1 (from going to veteran.battlefield.com and proving you have played the last couple Battlefield games). It is the all wooden rifle that I normally carry.

Haha, anybody can be a veteran. All you have to do is dl a demo, play it and register. Dl 2 demos and you're a rank 2.
