ApplicationWhat is your first name? Peter Please tell us your age and location. 23, Upstate NY In a few sentences, please tell us about yourself as a person. I graduated from college last year and am currently working in the restaurant business. I plan to return to school in the near future for a business degree. i enjoy gaming but also getting outside and playing some golf in the summer In a few sentences, tell us about yourself as a gamer. For example, what is your gaming history? got my first computer and started lanning with friends in high school. CS v1.4, DotA v. 5.84b ;) as well as WC3 and bunches of other games. In college I played mostly CS: Source until i was introduced to WoW in 2007. I played on and off based on my work and academic schedule but did raid a significant amount in BC, our ten man guild loved kara and ZA but i struggled between wanting to stay with them and move on to 25 man content, which i eventually did, progressing a bit through MH, SSC and TK before pretty much quitting the game due to moving overseas for a period of time. Last summer i got back into WotLK, quickly leveled to 80 and jumped right into raiding. Again i found myself stuck in a guild with a really great group of people that struggled to make much progress. we did however quickly get naxx on farm and progress up to keepers in ulduar before ToC came out. Around that time i was unable to raid much (due to working nights) and my idiot roomate put my account info into some scammer website that claimed to "rate you character" or something and the account was hacked. i appealed to blizzard but honestly wasn't too upset, i was burned out from playing 40 hours a week and was ready to take a break from the game. now, almost a year later i am excited to jump back in and get into a successful, mature raiding guild for cataclysm. i will have to re-roll, which i am kind of looking forward to actually.

Just to clarify, without being too immodest i consider myself very good at this game. I dont have the greatest in-game resume but thats due to limitations on being able to play consistently. i know that i am close to maximizing my dps on boss fights, i dont stand in the fire, and very rarely find myself feeling uncomfortable or unsure what to do while raiding. What are you looking for in the Tribe community? first and foremost a raiding guild that plays professionally, where everyone takes responsibility for playing their class not necessarily perfectly but at least knowledgeably. i find that playing with better players makes me work that much harder to get better. i do also play wow for the social aspect, so i would like to see active guild forums, gchat, and a lively vent. What will you bring to the Tribe community? i have an extremely high knowledge of my class, which i have played exclusively since 2007 (Shadow priest) and also a very good knowledge of both my off specs. even when i am away from the game i consistently check both the blizzard priest boards and shadowpriest.com. I spend alot of time researching and customizing addons to ensure that i am able to play to the best of my ability. i am very generous in game and really enjoy helping other guild members, whether with instance runs, add ons or anything else i can think of. i am fairly outgoing in vent and chat and enjoy just having fun with the game, especially when it comes to things liked farming content and heroic runs. To give us an idea of your sense of humor, tell us a joke! the other day at the bakery where i work a lady asked "whats in your iced coffee?" and i thought that was hilarious, cause obviously its ice and coffee, i mean come on people. So on the board where our specialty coffee drinks are listed i wrote "NEW: ICED COFFEE! House brewed coffee chilled on-site, poured over frozen ice cubes in a 20oz cup made from plastic". just to clear up any future confusion ;) What game(s) are you interested in playing? League of Legends
World of Warcraft
Other

Tell us about any characters you have, or plan to have, in those games. I will be leveling a priest in WoW to raid as shadow. i dont have any problems changing specs as the situation dictates, and enjoy healing from time to time just to change things up but i need to stress that shadow is my primary spec.

I play CS: Source pretty consistently, not with any particular guild now, most friends and the gungame mod. Tribe has a variety of players with a variety of interests. What are your interests in these games? Raiding? Scenarios / Battlegrounds? PvP? PvE? etc... 100% raiding. i do also enjoy 5-mans, but i consider that under the raiding/pve umbrella. i have no interest whatsoever in pvp, and nothing made me happier than trying to get a guild run for the heroic daily and see everyone in BG's ;)

i also like experimenting with the mechanics of my class and trying to solo old raid bosses, world NPC's and stuff like that. You are out grinding mobs when a really nice piece of gear for a different class drops, do you: Put it in the guild vault On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being very casual, and 10 being very hardcore what is your ATTITUDE? 8 How active of a gamer do you consider yourself to be? How many hours per week do you estimate you play? when i am playing wow i will probably play over 40 hours/week until i hit the level cap. then i average 2-3 hours a day outside of raids for dailies, crafting, AH, etc.

I gave myself an 8 for attitude but i concieve of it this way: personally i hold myself to a very high standard and try to do everything in game and out to ensure i play as well as possible. however i dont feel comfortable holding everyone else to that standard so you wont see me yelling in vent or bitching about someone else's gear/rotation/dps etc. so in that sense i am fairly relaxed but when i play, i put everything i have into being the best shadowpriest possible.

Hi Peter and welcome to the Tribe forums!

Thanks for taking the time to fill out the application thoroughly, it really speeds up the process when we don't have to pull information out of you :)

What do you like specifically about playing a Shadow Priest? Are there any other games on the horizon you are interested in?

I appreciate the prompt reply! i would be happy to answer any questions you have, the more specific the better.

What i love about priests the the fact that they are a hybrid, mana using class which creates opportunities to do just so many different things in the game. i just really love all the cool spells we have like levitate, shackle and fear ward. i like that i can tank heroics by mc'ing mobs. we have such diverse healing and dps spells. Hots, direct heals, aoe heals, absorbtion heals. for dps mind sear was a home run in WotLK and our dps rotation /utility is just awesome. i also like the challenge of it, juggling 3 dots with a nuke on CD, and a channeled spell is hard but much more engaging than mashing two buttons. i like struggling with addons like fortexorcist and power auras to develop a ui that maximizes my ability to play my class well. also, being a hybrid class i can stay away from the drama of who's topping the charts. not that i dont try to push my dps, but i dont like to neglect raid awareness and making adjustments on the fly to help with cc, adds or healing because i am so focused on the numbers, as far as im concerned if we got the boss down then everyone did enough dps.

basically ive been playing a priest for so long and its never gotten old, no matter how bad people rage that blizzard is screwing us with every patch. i liked have chart-topping dps in BC with my frozen shadow weave set but didn't mind that i was in the middle of the pack at other times, it was always fun to play. even being forced to re-roll i can't imagine playing another class.

I am having a friend build me a new computer and when thats done i look forward to playing some of the recent shooters that i have been unable to run on this crappy dell, but other than that i dont see many games out there besides WoW and some CS: Source on the side that i have much interest in. however i bet if people in the guild are involved in other games i could be persuaded to try them. i do have several RL friends who play absurd amounts of LoL and i play at times with them.

In a slightly different vein, i really appreciate what people like the crew at tankspot do and they have kind of inspired me to get involved with video recording / production. I have some ideas for some WoW videos i would like to create, possibly priest specific guides or something like that. i could see myself contributing to a guild with those skills as well, depending on how things develop.

You can find the vent information in the public sections of these forums and hop on there as well. That's a good way to start chatting with members.

We do have guild members with an interest in pvp (although more are much more pve oriented). Will that bother you if they are in bgs when you are looking for a group? ;)

ha no, i was mostly trying to emphasize MY interest in pve. i have been in guilds in the past where outside of scheduled raid times it was impossible to get groups for 5 mans, either dailies or badge runs and it was very frustrating to try to pug them. however those were smaller guilds (12-15 active raiders) so i don't foresee this being a problem here. also that was before the cross-realm dungeon finder, on a low-pop server.

who knows, if the guild is active in pvp and some people are willing to help me learn some of the basics i wouldn't mind joining some BG's but i doubt anyone would want me stinking up their arena team ;)

i brought some work home with me so ill be watching the forums for the next few hours till i have dinner and log in. let the leveling begin!

I'm copying your application to member feedback. What that means is you'll need three positive endorsements with no red flags to be accepted. You get those endorsements by chatting with people in-game and on vent (you can find the info in our public sections). Also forum participation is important to us.

Keep checking this thread for comments/questions.

Hey guys, just wanted to update you as to what I have been up to.

I just got a contract for a construction job that should take about two weeks, and between trying to fit that work in around my other two jobs I wont have hardly any time to play until we finish. So you probably wont see me in game but ill try to pop in vent when i can and will continue to check the forums every day.

Hi Peter. :)

Are two-week afk's (going to be) a common occurance?

Thanks!
Timothy

No, this is a special situation. The work we are doing is for a parent of a friend and i don't plan on scheduling any more work like this in the future. Also i am up for a promotion at my current day job which would only further solidify me into those hours, hours which leave me fully available to raid evenings during the week.

If it makes more sense to suspend my application for two weeks, and that is something you are willing to do i wouldn't have a problem with that. please believe me that i wouldn't be applying to a guild like this if i wasn't serious about making a commitment. while the timing is unfortunate, financially this is an opportunity i can't pass up. i hope you guys understand.

Hi Peter,

Your application is still up - we're looking for the chance to get to know you a little bit better. I know you are right in the middle of a busy period. Are you able to hop on vent and hang out with us at all?

hey guys, just checking in. been able to play alot more the last few days, just got my new laptop from newegg and it has me really excited about gaming. hope to see some of you in game soon. thanks again for the bags, cant remember who exactly gave them to me (Laisz? something like that?) but i really appreciate it. leveling has been a little slow cause i have no money and am trying to level tailoring and enchanting along with fishing, cooking, first aid, etc., which is something i never bothered to do on my previous main.

Have you been able to hop on our vent at all yet? We'd love to chat with you so that the application process can move forward.

Peter,

Here are some important points:

• The forums are extremely important to us. You are expected to check them at least once per day. You are also expected to participate in the application review process.

• We help those who help themselves. If you have a question, go through the forums first to find an answer. There is a search function and the stickied posts have a lot of information. Our members have posted a lot of resources to help you out.

• Ventrilo is a must. In general, you should be on whenever you are playing (and even if you aren’t and just want to chat).

• We have a guild before self philosophy. Help others in the guild when they need you.

• Now that you are in Tribe, you are a member of Tribe in every game that we play. So if you want to try out a different game, all you need to do is get an invite from the chapter leader (unless the guild is at member cap otherwise you may have to wait).

If you have any additional questions, feel free to ask me, any officer or your chapter leader.

Welcome to Tribe.

Noel
