Hey everyone, I'm not a member yet, I have an application in the works right now. I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself anyway though.
My name's Tony, I play as b0nk322 in LoL. I usually play caster champions, right now I've been kicking some ass as Morgana, she's pretty sweet. Spell Vamp passive, a snare, an AoE, and a really short cooldown personal Banshee's Veil. The only thing I'm not impressed with is her ulti, it ends up being just another damage spell since the 3 second wait for the stun isn't very reliable. But it is on a reasonably short cooldown so as a nuke it's pretty decent, especially if you can get the second half.
Before that I played a lot of Annie and a bit of Ryze mostly.
I have about 6k in IP saved up and I want to buy a new runeset other than my caster one. I'm thinking about going into a DPS champ, any suggestions on a good one to learn?

Personally for ranged dps, Im a big fan of tristana and she fills the dps role pretty well and has an escape move which is great. If you can get good with twitch though, he is better to pick off someone and better in a team fight especially with his ult and a tiamat. If you are looking into melee dps jax is a solid choice.
Good luck choosing a champ and see you in game

I love morgana when she goes more a support/tank build, her black shield being used to defend the squishy burster and dark binding to keep an enemy at bay, then using ulti to stop escapists can make her a pain in the ass to ignore, yet she's too tanky to take down easily.
Ranged DPS options include Ashe, Tristana, Corki, Nidalee, Sivir, Teemo.. probably others but not going to mention Twisted Fate or Twitch even though they're great options too. Tristana can deliver the most potent DPS it seems with her general build style while being able to escape. Corki can deliver some great AoE dps and has an escape a lot of trist, but corki is one people typically do not enjoy (I think he needs TLC). Ashe is always a good pick, even when not fed her slows are mega annoying and her arrow can initiate/create a gank. Nidalee is a lot of work (button clicks) but has versitility and decent push power (heal self + last whisper), Sivir has insane push and AoE dmg but no real escape skills (just +movement from ulti +block a spell which can at times be enough), she can be a lot of fun with boom blade and spell shield though. Teemo has good map trapping and push power, but more so his ability to poison targets that flee can score you some nice escaping wins.. But really, it all comes down to personal play preference and compilation of given champ with your team of choice.
Elementz posted this list, which can be good as a general guideline on champs to consider:
* Tier 1: Ezreal, Annie, Soraka, Kayle, Janna, Shen, Jax.
* Tier 2: Ashe, Nasus, Warwick, Sivir, Tristana, Amumu, Udyr, Zilean, Taric, Alistar, Katarina, Twitch, Heimerdinger, Shaco.
* Tier 3: Sion, Morgana, Anivia, Olaf, Pantheon, Kog'Maw, Corki, Gragas, Nunu, Yi, Singed, Nidalee, Fiddlesticks, Mundo, Poppy, Rammus, Twisted Fate.
* Tier 4: Ryze, Mordekaiser, Kassadin, Garen, Malphite, Cho'gath, Karthus, Blitzcrank, Tyndamere, Gangplank,
* Hard to place on a team: Kennen, Akali, Veigar, Eve, Teemo, Malhazar.
So for ranged DPS, you have Ashe/Sivir/Twitch as tier2, Corki, Nidalee, Twisted Fate as tier3.
